Window painting project brightens nursing home residents spirits | WTAJ

ELK COUNTY, PA (WTAJ) – Residents at Elk Haven Nursing Home truly have a window with a view after the home launches its window painting project.

Everyone from Girl Scouts to great-grandchildren bring paint and brushes to brighten the window of their loved ones.

Window designs feature gingerbread men, Frosty, The Grinch, and even Charlie Brown.

According to Admissions Director Alyssa Uplinger, the phone rang within the first hour they reported on the project.

“My phone just started to explode,” said Uplinger.

Uplinger says the idea was triggered after they couldn’t let in visitors because of the virus.

During the project, families and their relatives can socialize and at the same time enjoy the much-needed vacation fun.
