Teen girl left frightened after being followed by older man ‘making panting noises’
A TEENAGER was scared after an older man followed her as she tried to get home from school.
The 15-year-old was given an early discharge from school when the incident occurred on August 13.
It was around 1:50 a.m. when she boarded the 1D bus in Clydebank, the girl’s mother told the post office.
A man who was already on board and sitting downstairs stood up and supposedly followed her as she went up the stairs.
He reportedly sat behind her and made gasping noises before walking to the seat directly across from her and then following her down the stairs as she tried to get away from him.
A lady who got off at the next stop noticed what was going on and the girl got off the bus with her.
The man followed them.
The girl’s mother said, “The lady who entered asked the driver to look out for my daughter as this was her stop and she didn’t want to just leave her.
“The guy who was behind them got on the bus and my daughter got back on the 1D bus because it wasn’t her stop yet.
“The bus driver was really good – he took his time and waited until the other bus was far away before moving.
“I want to let people know what’s going on. She got out of school early, which is why she was herself at the time.
“When she’s on the road at normal times, the bus is usually bullied by students. I’m just so glad the lady noticed what happened.
“My daughter just got out to get away from him.”
The mother said that her daughter was still scared and shaken when she got home.
She added, “I told myself I have to call the police. If something had happened to another girl, I would never have forgiven myself.
“What was his next step?”
