Merry Point Ferry painting project postponed until fall

LANCASTER – The Merry Point ferry doesn’t have spring break.

At the urging of Lancaster’s board of directors to postpone scheduled maintenance until the fall, Northern Neck-based Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) engineer David Beale has decided to do just that, according to communications manager Kelly Hanson.

“Passengers will have uninterrupted service on the Merry Point Ferry this spring and summer. Immediately after Labor Day….
