Decorator daubs ‘Want your house painting? Pay the bill’ in 20ft letters on pub as boss ‘owes £500’ – but who’s right? – The Sun
A PAINTER and decorator who claims he owes £ 500 for his work took revenge – by posting a note on the page of an old pub he was working on.
Dean Reeves, 50, wrote in big black letters, “Want to paint your house? Don’t be like Terry, pay the bill! Now you will!” he had painted over the cream-colored exterior.

Mr Reeves claims that contractor Terry Taylor only paid him £ 650 of the agreed price of £ 1,150 for the work but refused to pay the rest until he did additional work on the building.
He claims he worked through his lunch for a week to get the job done on time at the former North Star Club in Bolsover, Derbyshire.
He said, “I gave him an offer for the job and he said he would ping me the money right away.”
“The work should be done on scaffolding, with all signs and gutters removed.
“But I’ve done the work of ladders and saved him £ 900 on scaffolding, and I’ve taken all the signs off of me.
“I did the job and he said if I came back to put another coat on the back of the building he would pay me.”

But after Mr Reeves learned he was not going to get paid, he took matters into his own hands and lavished the cream-colored building on black paint.
“I would never get paid, but I wanted to make sure he had to pay something to sort it out,” he concluded.

When contacted for a comment, Mr Taylor denied ripping off the painter and decorator and explained how he would pay in full once the work was done.
“I found out last night, but I’m completely private – it’s just color, the idiot,” he confirmed.
“I have now spoken to the police and they will try to arrest him – he will be convicted of criminal harm.”
A Derbyshire Police spokesman commented: “We received a phone call this morning reporting that graffiti was being painted on a property on Welbeck Road in Bolsover.
“There appears to be a dispute between two parties and we will be in touch with those involved in due course.”
