Curb painting scam making the rounds in College Station
COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The College Station Police Department is warning people of curb-painting fraud. They said there is a flyer some people have been given that tells homeowners to leave money in an envelope and stick it on their door in exchange for having their house numbers painted on the curb.
Don’t fall for it. Don’t leave money on your door, especially if someone you don’t know asks you to, authorities said. Reach out to loved ones and let them know this is a scam.
According to the CSPD, there are companies in the city that offer this service, but they could not yet match the flyer with any of these companies.

Authorities also said that in order for a company to go door to door and do so, they would need a so-called house attorney permit. They said no permits had been given for this particular flyer. You can read more about the city ordinance on permits here:
