Ace Hardware hopes to help with painting procrastination

RAPID CITY, SD (KOTA) – When you are staying at home for the final year or thinking about renovating your home improvement when the weather is nice. Ace Hardware helps people find the perfect paint color for home projects.

Ace Hardware recently conducted a survey that found that 84% of respondents have a room in the house they want to paint and that 22% of those people find it difficult to find the perfect shade.

Because of this, Ace Hardware hosted a “Sample Saturday” where customers selected different color samples for their home to test for a potential DIY project.

Mike Johnson is responsible for the hardware division at Ace Hardware West in Rapid City. He said more people were investing time and money in projects at home while staying at home during the pandemic.

“They looked down the street and said,” Well, I won’t have a vacation or I won’t have much time to do pastimes because everyone will be stuck inside. “Johnson said,” Well, some of the money they put in for it, they think, ‘Well, we might as well paint the house.’ “

With the spring-like temperatures, you can also think about making some changes to your home.

Ryan Tompkins works with outdoor materials at Ace and said people are already coming in to buy things for the warmer months.

“We’ve already sold some patio furniture sets, and we actually have sales of those patio furniture, and we expect more, especially our greenhouse, in the coming months, people have really gotten into it,” said Tompkins.

Ace staff hope this event can help people not to hesitate with their home projects.
