10 things to do this week: Diamond painting, ‘E.T.’ movie, more | CU Boulder Today

This week, Program Councils brings Behind the Music with Dayglow, a networking workshop, a volunteer buff meeting, Startups2Students, free basketball at The Rec and much more.

Monday April 12th

6 p.m. zoom
Come and relax and tinker with other buffs as you join the Center for Student Involvement for a DIY night! You can pick up the materials and then set to see and paint with diamonds. Space is limited so be sure to register in advance for this fun event.

Tuesday April 13th

1 p.m. to 2 p.m. virtual
Learn about the basics of networking, how to connect the real way, and how to take networking to the next level. Be sure to register with Zoom to gain access.

5:30 p.m. zoom
Whether you’re looking to pursue a legal career or are just curious about the field, join these conversations from attorneys, law schools, and judges across the country about their experiences. Today’s speaker is Paul Bokota, Vice President and General Counsel of The HydraFacial Company. Be sure to register with Handshake to reserve your seat.

Wednesday April 14th

5–6: 15 pm virtual
Participate in a celebration of the stories of triumph, joy, and success of islanders from Asia and the Pacific hosted by the Center for Student Involvement and the Dennis Small Cultural Center! They will feature a handful of recorded videos of members of the CU Boulder community pondering their joy stories, followed by time and space for conversation, community and story sharing.

Take some time and learn to prepare for your future.

6–7 p.m. Virtual
Take part in this event and meet your buffs and staff at the Volunteer Resource Center! Meet with people who enjoy volunteering and are committed to community service in the greater Boulder area this spring semester. Registration is required.

Thursday April 15th

5–6: 30 p.m. Virtual
Have you always wanted to know more about the world of startups and entrepreneurship? Come and hear how startups set up their companies and open projects, internships and jobs. Meet with employees at the startups and learn how to get involved in their activities. Be sure to register with Handshake to participate.

Friday April 16

8 p.m. Chem 140
Bring your popcorn, grab a friend, and check out ET, the story of a troubled child who finds the courage to help a friendly alien escape Earth and return to their homeworld.

3–6 p.m. Admission Center
Grab a buddy and shoot some hoops at the rec center! Only three people are allowed per basket. You will have your own ball, but bring your own if you can. Be sure to register in advance to reserve your spot.

7 p.m. virtual
Attend the third edition of the Program Council’s Behind the Music with Dayglow. Learn about the story of Sloan Struble recording music as Dayglow, how he started writing music, and how this led to his career. The link for the event will be emailed to all attendees.
